Groove Project

Groove Project began in the summer of 1999 as a drum circle under a tree led by Parkersburg drummer Andy Hall. Rhythmic knowledge was soaked up from every available source: friends from Marshall U and WVU, recordings, internet, books, clinics. They began learning about rhythm and groove through structured playing of a few styles found around the globe. They are based in
the Parkersburg / Marietta area of West Virginia and Ohio.

Groove Project was the recipient of the Artsbridge Founder's Award in 2001. Past performances include WVU-Parkersburg, Marshall University, Marietta College, Washington State College, MOV Multicultural Festival & with the Southeastern Ohio Symphony in Cambridge.
